The Company
Our client is a Reputable Fashion & Apparel MNC and is renowned for bringing about high-quality products globally. With an integrated supply chain network world-wide and dedication to manufacture highest quality products, they are able to deliver best-in-class value propositions to their customers. They are currently looking for an experienced Legal Counsel, Asia to further optimise the growing business operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Legal Counsel in the Global HQ, this role sits within the Asia Leadership team where you will drive the innovative development and effective implementation of a comprehensive legal strategy for Asia. You will also be supporting various functional teams in their relevant legal support and strategic activities. The main essence of this role is to focus on further enhancing the quality of internal and external work relations within Asia and beyond.
Other Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high quality legal advisory and support to regional management and various functions across Asia region
- Review and lead the implementation and proper execution of regional legal work flow (including subsidiary businesses and cross-border project legal advice), focused on Singapore, Indonesia, India markets etc
- Active involvement in the preparation, negotiation and drafting of critical commercial contracts by means of close collaboration with lawyers, paralegals and external counsels where required
- Active involvement in business strategy meetings alongside the regional leaders
- Develop a structured training process to ensure consistency in legal and compliance activities in the region
- Involved in strategic global process improvement projects
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree as a qualified lawyer with at least 2-5 years of PQE and at least 1-2 years in-house legal counsel experiences with an international matrix organization
- Strong profile in creating effective business partnership by means of excellent analytical capability to align legal regulations with commercial objectives
- Well-versed in negotiation
- Excellent in spoken and written English
- Excellent influencing & negotiation skills with a proven track record in implementation of appropriate standards, specifications and agreements and to gain ‘buy-in’ from senior stakeholders
