The Opportunity:

This is an exciting, newly created role for an experienced Lawyer/Senior Associate to join the Dexus Legal team with the aim of providing accurate, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to the Dexus Treasury team.

The Role:

Reporting direct to Senior Legal Counsel, the successful candidate will also act as the liaison point between the Treasury team and the broader Legal, Compliance and Governance teams. The objective of the role is to provide strategic legal support to the growing treasury business (balance sheet and funds management) both internally and in dealings with external counsel and key stakeholders.

The Legal Counsel, Treasury will act as an ambassador for the Legal, Compliance and Governance team in coordinating dealings with the Treasury team.

About you:

We are looking for a highly driven individual with a commercial approach to legal matters and the confidence to successfully advise the business on legal issues. You will have minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience as a Lawyer/Solicitor or Senior Associate in a major law firm or a Legal Counsel in a corporate role. Over your career, you will have developed expertise across structuring and documentation of complex borrowing and risk management transactions. Exposure to ancillary legal areas as they relate to property including ASX Listing Rules, ASIC Class Orders, structuring of transactions, property finance, funds management, dispute resolution and insolvency would be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will present excellent communications and negotiation skills, an enthusiastic attitude and display a real knack for building relationships with stakeholders across all levels of seniority & diverse personalities.
