The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader in energy, metals, and agricultural product trading worldwide whose professional’s trade in both physical and derivative commodity risk.
Global Markets Group is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanley’s Sales & Trading businesses in India. It covers functions across FID and Institutional Equities Division (IED) ranging from those associated with sales, trading, analytics, strats to risk management.
The role involves working with and supporting the Macro Trading desk and negotiating new total return swap confirmations. The role suits a self-motivated, highly energetic individual who has a good background in derivatives and structured finance law and some understanding of the fixed income markets/products.
Position Description:
Negotiating total return swap template confirmations with various new counterparties
Working with traders to understand the trading considerations and impact on the documentation
Working with Legal in relation to legal issues
Developing a negotiation handbook together with trading and legal
Managing approvals and record keeping in relation to all total return swap negotiation
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Background
Solid common law legal background, with 3-5yrs of experience.
Skills Required
Candidate must have:
Coursework / Strong understanding in common law.
Basic understanding of interest rate and credit products, derivatives & markets.
Ideally some relevant work experience.
Solid expertise in relation to Word.
Must be self-motivated, confident and possess good communication skills.
Ability to think on their feet & attention to details.
Ability to handle stress and pressure of fast markets.
