Our Firm

Come and right wrong with us. At Shine Lawyers, we challenge the “norms” of traditional law firms, and are committed to understanding the needs of our clients, pro-actively working to always stand up for the little guy. We’re a national team of dedicated professionals, whose willingness to think creatively positions us ahead of the pack.

The Team

We are proud to have a motivated and expert team assisting primarily survivors of abuse. This dedicated team of Solicitors, Law Clerks, Paralegals and Admin Assistants work on matters that make a real difference in the lives of their clients.

In response to increased demand to secure resolutions for our deserving clients, an opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor or Associate to join a supportive and friendly team, who strongly believe in handling our clients’ claims with empathy, and a willingness to think creatively.

Please note that although this role is a full-time opportunity, we are open to discussions around either a part-time or flexible work arrangement, at the equivalent of 4 days per week, for the right candidate.

The Role

This is a permanent role, ideally located in our Parramatta team. You’ll have the opportunity to be mentored by pre-eminent experts in the field, who have been invited to speak both locally and internationally as part of various committees and enquiries. This role will not just see you secure justice for those who have been wronged, but also give you the opportunity to influence change in the way we protect our children.

Although Abuse Law experience across any jurisdiction is highly preferable, it’s not essential for success – we are open to mentoring an eager and experienced solicitor. So, if you are a personal injuries solicitor keen to assist vulnerable people with achieving justice, and bring sensitivity and expertise to the table, this may be your next move.

The Role

  • Provide clients with legal advice and representation to obtain compensation
  • Work across a variety of client matters that require a high level of sensitivity
  • Provide legal advice to each client’s particular matter to suit their level of understanding
  • Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with clients, including effective and regular communication and managing the client’s expectations
  • Draft legal documentation with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Manage and run a file load with a high level of commercial and fiscal awareness
  • Take an active role in working with and mentoring junior members of the team

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated post-admission experience, with expertise in personal injury law
  • Enjoy working on legally challenging and factually complex matters
  • Maturity and confidence to deal with clients, senior and junior counsel and expert witnesses
  • A desire to be part of a strong, cohesive team that works together to get great results
  • Ability to manage large volumes of documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with experts in multiple fields
  • Demystifying the legal process to those unfamiliar with the legal system
  • Passionate, motivated and enthusiastic individual who wants to take their career to the next level

What We Offer

We Offer

An ASX-listed organisation, committed to shining a light on injustice, and making the world a better place, one client at a time. Our search is for like-minded people, passionate about giving a voice to those who would otherwise be unheard, and putting the client at the heart of all they do.

  • Opportunity to reach your potential via clear career pathways
  • Competitive remuneration and benefits program
  • A progressive and supportive working environment, not afraid to pioneer new ways
