Junior M&A Lawyer

We have a fantastic opportunity for a junior lawyer to gain M&A legal experience in a collegiate corporate team within one of Australia’s major financial institutions.
This role will see you:
Supporting Senior Lawyers in providing high-quality advice to the Westpac Group that is accurate, timely, cost effective and commercial.
Working with internal business partners on M&A transactions of all sizes and scales.
Assisting with transactions from a legal perspective and monitoring associated transaction governance.
Assisting in the instruction, delivery and management of required external legal and other advice in a cost effective and efficient manner.
Demonstrating an ability to identify material transaction issues and understand how they need to be escalated within the M&A Legal and deal team(s) as relevant.

What do I need?
We want to hear from lawyers with up to 4 years’ PQE. Your training could have been gained either in a major organisation, or in a leading law firm.
You will:
Have some experience in corporate M&A or transactional legal work, preferably within a large corporate environment or top tier law firm.
Demonstrate the ability to provide proactive support to senior team members and key internal stakeholders.
Want to learn on the job and work on a broad range of M&A transactions.
Want to work in a close-knit team and develop strong relationships with internal business partners.
